Lead, manage and execute various R & D projects in collaboration with industrial and academic partners to develop the state-of-the-art steels, alloys and coatings with improved mechanical properties, enhanced creep strength, strengthened resistance to oxidation, corrosion, wear and erosion in power : Associate Dean of College of . Effective coatings are essential to counteract the effects of corrosion and degradation of exposed materials in high-temperature environments such as gas turbine engines. Thermal barrier coatings reviews the latest advances in processing and performance of thermal barrier coatings, as well as their failure mechanisms.

AbstractPhysical vapor deposition (PVD) multilayered coatings with titanium nitride and chromium nitride top layers were deposited on UNS S alloy in an attempt to improve the corrosion and corrosion-wear resistance of this stainless steel in corrosive environments. The coatings were produced in an industrial chamber by cathodic arc PVD on heat-treated and mechanically polished stainless. Modelling of textile composites - including geometric modelling of textile structures (TexGen), and unit cell modelling for processing and performance, particularly for 3D woven materials; Liquid moulding processes (such as resin transfer moulding and vacuum infusion) applied to aerospace and automotive components - current work here is focused.

Anti-erosion coatings are good candidates to protect the compressor blades [5,6]. TiN/ZrN multilayer coatings have good mechanical properties. They can improve the erosion resistance of metals. However, the effect of TiN/ZrN coatings on the corrosion resistance of titanium alloys in extreme environments requires further by: 7.

The resulting microstructures and property profiles of nanoscale PVD multilayer coatings are dependent on many parameters such as choice of materials, individual layer thickness, deposition. Coatings (ISSN ; CODEN: COATED) is a peer-reviewed journal of coatings and surface engineering published monthly online by MDPI.

The Korean Tribology Society (KTS) is affiliated with Coatings and its members receive discounts on the article processing charges.
